Overview

Todd Hosfelt combines approximately 200 drawings in an installation designed to reveal thematic and conceptual relationships across time and place.  In drawings spanning the globe as well as the 16th to 21st centuries, from European Old Masters to to geometric abstraction to photorealism, drawing on three-dimensional objects, drawings made with thread, made by fly larvae, and one drawn both with graphite and on it, this is an exploration of the intimacy, immediacy and pleasure of drawing.

Artists include Rina Banerjee, Harry Bertoia, Joan Brown, Bruce Conner, Jean Conner, Jay DeFeo, Jess, Stefan Kürten, José Antonio Suárez Londoño, Emil Lukas, Marco Maggi, Alexandre Kyungu Mwilambwe, Mansur Nurullah, Patricia Piccini, Liliana Porter, Lordy Rodriguez, Gideon Rubin, Thomas Schütte, Shahzia Sikander, Wayne Thiebaud, Cornelius Völker, William T. Wiley, and many, many others.
