The fragility of the physical materials of of a painting is the central theme for the artists featured in this exhibition. Materiality is transformed. Using unconventional approaches, the works explore aspects of becoming and passing away, of form-finding and form-decomposition, the search for traces, image blurring, and image dissolution. These are understood less in technical terms and more in processual, symbolic, ethical, or performative ones.
