Colombian artist Jose Antonio Suarez Londono makes delicately detailed drawings using a variety of media in miniature format. Making use of materials as small as labeling tags or as familiar as a journal’s page, he constructs his drawn musings as much as he composes them. Imagery that includes animals and architecture, vehicles and vessels, dots and digits is arranged in an enigmatic classification system. Occasional diaristic text provides a more direct glimpse into the mind of the artist.

Fascinated by the world in all of its odd minutia, Londono hungrily accumulates images from an enormous variety of sources, ranging from his early study of biology to the diaries of Brian Eno or Paul Klee. His textures and warm palette, combined with drawings of old photographs and strange elemental designs, blend into an arcane microcosm of humor and fantasy.
