Patricia Piccinini hoped a new audience might discover her art when in late 2015 an exhibition of her fantastical creatures was staged in Sao Paulo, Brazil. As it happened, the audience response was so strong that one exhibition became a series of four shows in different cities in Brazil. These were so well visited that Piccinini became the world's most popular contemporary artist of 2016.
