In Fences IV, Algerian artist Driss Ouadahi depicts a hazy sky with pink-tinted clouds behind the delicate geometry of a fence. Sounds picturesque, right? But the chain-links expand to the borders of the canvas, trapping and disorienting the viewer. In "Trans-Location," the artist's latest show largely comprised of cityscape paintings, Ouadahi builds on this tension between promise and enclosure.
