Liliana Porter: For You / Para Usted

In her video work, Argentinean Liliana Porter employs a collection of wind-up toys, figurines, and stuffed animals in a series of vignettes that comment on the human condition. Each short scene focuses on the toys as they “perform” both in and out of context. The sequences of anthropomorphized kitsch create a psychological and philosophical narrative that is complimented by a playfully simple yet poignant soundtrack, written and performed by Sylvia Meyer.
