Nippon Kobo presents Kobo Sessions #2, our premium event series, on May 2, 2026. Kobo Sessions are held in intimate venues with limited audience capacity, creating space for a deeper, more meaningful experience of music and culture from contemporary Japan. Centered on this year’s theme — Ma: The Space Between All Things — this event will explore Japanese aesthetics and music through an interdisciplinary collaboration featuring a sonic improvisation trio by Kanoko Nishi on koto, Theresa Wong on cello, and Haruka Fujii on percussion, alongside an exhibition of artworks by Emil Lukas at Hosfelt Gallery in San Francisco. The music program will be paired with wine by Japanese makers of Northern California and a premium bento box dinner.
