“The once ubiquitous duo of brown paper sack reinforcing a plastic grocery bag has always reminded me of a tank topped torso.” Hawkinson’s creation is both an example of an artist giving life to the inanimate and a reminder of the mountains of garbage produced in our mindlessly consuming culture.
