Heavily layered and vibrant red green purple and orange oil paint on linen create two separate unique woven patterns inspired by the silk described in Japanese courtesan Lady Nijo’s autobiography The different red hues in the piece to the left create a criss crossing pattern while on the right green and orange underneath a textured purple create a woven image of a many leaved purple plant
